The shops love an early Christmas spirit

Shops begin Christmas promotions in October. Events begin in November, and Sydney really comes alive with Christmas in November/December. But when do you start to get in to the festive spirit? Is this dictated by your Christmassy surrounds?

I'll admit to being a big Christmas fan. But I always try to wait until December before I really kick the spirit in. The tree goes up the first weekend of December, my Christmas carol cd's go in the car, and presents start getting wrapped. I find if I get into these things too early, I reach Christmas fatigue before the big day even comes. I'd prefer to start later, and still feel the 'merry' part of Christmas when it's time to cook a turkey, eat ham and unwrap presents.
Such a wonderful question. It really all depends on how organised you feel. I mean, we're only about a month away from Christmas now, and already it feels like Christmas has come too soon - even though we're in the silly season right now. Wait for it, as soon as the post-Christmas sales finish, the Easter bunny will have his turn.
As Iím writing this, in July, 2015, I donít need to know about this up & coming event until at least DEC 1!
