An ice cream is an essential Manly treat
Manly, you're resort paradise when you don't get to come to the Northern Beaches very often. For those of us who don't live nearby, we usually purport that the locals have it good. Yet too much paradise can be expensive for them. Luckily for the rest of us Sydney siders, we just lap it up. I'm sure the locals to Manly do as well.

Outside travelling on the Manly Ferry
The perfect start is always on the
Ferry. As per the latter link, the consensus is 'give me slow.' Nothing wrong with the Fast Ferry, yet for a little less - it only takes an extra 10 minutes to get to Manly otherwise. A great 30 minutes spent on Sydney Harbour on each leg. The only qualm about the traditional yellow and green ferry is the crowds. It feels like you've hit the jackpot if you're fortunate enough to sit outside.

Some sweetness to curb those hunger pains
You're now at Manly Wharf. I love the candy shop right near Max Brenner. A great way to satisfy those sweet cravings, and a few little treats to munch on the way back. Otherwise, as you walk along The Corso - immerse yourself in some beautiful statues and flowers. There is a mini playground for kids too. If you're willing to spend more on your kids, the aquarium is a hit.

Sculpture delights
Otherwise, if you have a bike with you - go for it. Bike riding is Manly is great, except for those hills. Cheap bike hire is also available, and helmets are normally included.

Floral paradise
Enjoying an ice cream at Manly is essential. After all, you've worked hard for a simple indulgence. I love Ben & Jerrys, as well as Royal Copenhagen further down. For the latter establishment, if you're ordering a waffle cone - enjoy some chocolate dip, together with a pecan nut and cream for free - with some extra toppings to help yourself to in abundance. However, if you prefer something a little healthier, then give
Yogurtland a couple of doors down a try.

Bike riders paradise too
Manly is great for its beaches.
Manly Beach is so fantastic. Click on the latter link, and the benefits are expanded for Sydney Fun. If you love walking, and exploring more of Manly for free - then the
Cabbage Tree Bay Aquatic Reserve is a brilliant go to locale. Love Manly. Enjoy Manly.
