Como Markets
Plenty of stalls at the
There are around 100 stalls at the
, held on the second Sunday of each month, except January, from 9am till 2pm.
You’ll find the in the grounds of the Como Public School, which is not far from the famous Como Hotel (once owned by the legendary rugby league player Arthur Beetson). It’s also a short walk from the Como Marina and the Como Bridge. You can also get there by train - it’s a short walk from Como train station.
I really like the . They have the stalls you seem to find at every market like jewellery, silver gifts, homemade sweets and crafts. And no market is complete without a gozleme stand.
If its a market, there must be a gozleme stand.
There are also quite a few stalls that have things you may not find anywhere else. One in particular was the unique musical instrument stand, and a stand selling African craft.
Check out the African crafts
While there were handmade craft items, I was disappointed that there doesn’t appear to be any local artists selling their art.
Lots of second hand books to choose from
There are second hand items and collectables, as well as used books and music, and an area with plants for sale.
Take your pick of the plants for sale
There are plenty of stalls at which you can buy food to eat there, or to take home and enjoy. One sold very delicious homemade bread. One stall had homemade cakes that were priced very reasonably.
The school also gets in on the act, and sells food from its canteen.
Undercover area to relax and eat
Being in a school playground, there is a good undercover area to offer some respite from the sun.
Theres a jumping castle for the kids
There is a jumping castle, but not much more for the younger kids, however, there are lots of clothes to buy for young children among the stalls.
When I was there, a young girl was playing the electric organ and singing, and she was pretty darn good too.
