Darling Harbour Fireworks
In all seriousness, what is there to not love about beautiful Darling Harbour? Easily a place that is dubbed as one of Sydney's best playgrounds. On a Saturday night, some fireworks displays come out of hiding. The time for the
used to be at 8:30pm on a Saturday night. Now the time has changed to 9pm every Saturday.
Having some Sydney Fun
Despite the silly season and the slightly later starting time, Sydney siders are not deterred. Come to the area right near Harbourside and Cockle Bay Wharf at least 45 minutes beforehand, and already people are eager with their cameras in tow. However, in saying this - the crowds aren't nearly as full on as they would be for the New Years Eve and Australia Day fireworks festivities in this area.
Cool
Nothing distracted any eager Sydney sider in the mood for some free, quality entertainment. Not even food, or the whips that street theatre performers use to grab our attention for their open street shows. I waited for about 15 minutes, and before you know it - music comes blurting out of the speakers attached to the white wood posts.
Loving it
The fireworks spectacular is creatively immersed in some cool and simple party tunes for a Saturday night. The fireworks went on for about 15 minutes. Quite smoky though, however they were rather loud and just ever so cool. Loved the colour change sequences, and how they ventured from the water into the air. A great, free show put on by Harbourside and the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority.
