David Jones Market Street Sydney City

David Jones Market Street Sydney City

Posted 2014-05-06 by Justine Crowleyfollow

This is the second David Jones department store in the city, and as per their Elizabeth Street store; this department store retailer owns this building themselves.

The foodies among you will love food halls on the ground floor. You can enter in down a few stairs via Market Street, or via Westfield Sydney's Pitt Street level. As Sydney Fun is not a food site, I won't speak about this space too much - except you'll love the chocolate here, including the chocolate dipped fruits. Tastings are rare but available, and the latter comes out in abundance at the Girls Night Out event on a Tuesday night prior to Mothers Day every year.

The boys club is situated on the next two levels, and yes men deserve some luxury too. Trusty mens clothing brands such as Ted Baker occupy space here. There is a diverse range of beautiful mens suits, ties and cuff links available to buy and admire in this deluxe shopping space.

Further up, and the MasterChefs among you, eat your heart out...literally. Beautiful crockery to the likes of Donna Hay and Royal Doulton occupy this space, as well as some much sought after cooking equipment. For those of you who hold a David Jones American Express card, you can get your gifts wrapped (only for David Jones purchases at the Elizabeth and/or Market Street stores) here for free, and make any payments on your David Jones credit card accounts if you wish.

Further up you will find books, electrical appliances, bedding, furniture, blankets and stationery to name. For the latter, you will find the much sought after greeting cards here. I know, because I had to buy cards for three different men with discerning tastes last year, and this David Jones store was my saving grace. With the stationery, if you love that Swedish stationer, you will find many of their cool and quirky stationery items to peruse. Maybe there is no other store like David Jones after all.
