Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney

A family friendly experience, and an awesome escape the city while still being in the city kind of experience. On a warm day, or on any leisurely day - lose yourself at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Sydney.



The skyscrapers do get some mention, yet nature, the plants and the animals will relax you in no time at all. You're not far from the Sydney Opera House either.



Has been restored, and is home to a multitude of weddings. A great hotspot on New Years Eve - a venue of which sells out rather quickly. If you have ever participated in the Sydney Running Festival, you'll come across the finishing line and race recovery inside these beautiful gardens.



Many corporates also engage in their lunchtime jogs/runs here. If you've also participated in the Mothers Day Classic at The Domain, you'll also spend a bit of time here. Love the water views, so serene and peaceful. Have also enjoyed a couple of Yoga classes at the Boy Charlton pool nearby, and it is so lovely to walk through the gardens to head back to Circular Quay homebound. Bliss. Triple bliss.



Learn about different plant species, and enjoy the ponds as well as lying on the grass. Chill out, and let time pass you by. You can also walk to Woolloomooloo here, yet some of the gardens are fenced off for restorative works as at the time of writing this.



If you're not inclined to walk, you can hop on the Choo Choo Express, a red train that runs twice an hour. The train tour around the gardens takes 25 minutes with four different stops along the way. The service does not run in wet weather. Tickets are sold at the gate right next to the Sydney Opera House.



All good, love the abundance of greenery at this end of the city. All beautiful backdrops.
