Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre

Come here in off-peak periods, and a fantastic experience at the is enjoyed. The entry fee of $7, plus $2 to hire a locker is so low when you have a really great time here.



As you know, swimming competitions are held here. If you ever get a chance to swim in the competition pool - to your left as you enter before you reach the change rooms, then just go for it. A rather fast, deep pool. Great to swim where the legends claimed victory during the 2000 Olympic Games.



You can check out lane availability in advance at the aquatic centres website. You're given the choice between the fast, or the fast to moderate lane. Swim schools are also held here.



It is easy to enjoy a productive, cleansing swim that is so liberating in the competition pool. Before you know it, an hour has passed. If you've swum anywhere between 40-60 laps - good on you. Such an awesome swim here. You do not need to worry about the crowds during the week. Might be different on weekends.



Great outdoor area for some sunbathing, and there are a couple of cafes on site. The kids area is great. Although the spa can be quite crowded - this area is a great way to unwind prior to freshening up and getting changed. When having a shower here, the tap turns itself off quite quickly. You'll need to turn it on multiple times for a proper shower. Their sauna facilities are also quite good. There is a health club on site also. Apparently, parking is not a challenge during the week. There is a train service to and from Lidcombe every 10 minutes.



Again, had an awesome swim in the competition pool area. Body and mind feels so fantastic afterwards. Enjoy it.

When: Love it here between 10:30am to midday on a Wednesday during non-school holiday periods. Otherwise, if you can only make it on the weekend or another day - that is fine too.
