Westfield Miranda

Westfield Miranda

is the hub for those who live in the Sutherland Shire and in Sydney's southern suburbs who love to shop and socialise. To begin with, there is an awesome chocolate cafe to chill out and unwind in. At first sight, what I love about this shopping centre is the quality of some dining experiences. Although their food court is massive, however, it is nice to see some great restaurants such as sushi trains and thai restaurants occupy home here in a relaxed, un-rushed space - although weekends would be another story.

This shopping centre is (currently) part construction site, part quality shopping. Do not let this deter you, even for a second. It is all safe, and there are caring customer service staff in abundance to help us all cope with the construction works to create a brand spanking new shopping centre at the end of 2014, as at the time of writing this. You can view artists impressions of what the new is going to look like by coming here, and already one is impressed.

This shopping centre is home to a few great places to buy some cheap clothes for the kids in particular, as well as for yourself. You have Rebel Sport and a top kids toy shop on the top level.

Level 3 is home to Kids World - a pirate ship play equipment area where your child/children get to play for free. If you don't have children, is still your shopping oasis - with brands such as Crabtree & Evelyn, Peter Alexander and Just Jeans all within close proximity to each other. You even have a suburbia old school David Jones and Myer. For the latter, I'd still prefer to shop at David Jones in the city because there is more space. Everything is crammed into one large space here at this top notch department store.

is surprisingly a spiritual oasis with nicely decorated shops to have a massage, and/or to get your nails done to name.

Final verdict: lose yourself for a couple of hours, and just relax. Come here during the week if you can. Naturally, this shopping centre is quite hectic on weekends. will be in a league of its own once construction works are completed.

Rating: 6/10 (when the new centre is ready, and all turns out as planned, they'll definitely score full marks.)
