David Jones SpringSummer Fashion Launch
A glimpse of some beautiful designs from a fashion designer, that is currently celebrating their 10th anniversary.
Sydney, The David Jones Spring/Summer Fashion Launch for 2013 (as at the time of writing this, and will be the same for future years) is here. Exciting times. There is always something magical and optimistic as we head into Spring. It is like our attitudes and energy is constantly changing. At times we feel fresh, we feel renewed, and that is a joyful thing.
A beautiful, warm welcome.
Front row seats (if you are a David Jones American Express Cardholder), or if you are lucky to get in from an invitation if you are a David Jones customer; you get to enjoy a flute of champagne, or a bottle of a Santa Vittoria drink of your choice before securing your seat for a wonderful 45 minutes that lies ahead. Also during this time, you are waited on hand and foot, while you are treated to some gorgeous canapes, including an almost dinner sized mushroom risotto, and some fresh crab rolls to name.
Love it. Let the show go on.
Level 7 at the Elizabeth Street store is reserved for the lucky few. Especially for weddings and other private functions. When you come to a function on this floor (including fashion parades such as this one), you can feel like you're on cloud nine, and especially in a heritage building that hosted the department store's
175 year anniversary . The ambience is stunning. The decor at the Spring/Summer Fashion Launch felt like being in the Ivy's Sunroom, on a summer holiday somewhere. Something to get really excited about, and therefore a timely reminder of what lies ahead of us.
Summer loving
The crowds reign, and the staff were so welcoming and ever so friendly. Having a meal at [LINK http://sydneyfoodlovers.hubgarden.com/david-jones-foodhall/595/Foodhalls] prior, and then enjoying some beauty shopping afterwards made way for a perfect Thursday night out. Oh, and there were some fresh flowers and beautiful scents from the
Glasshouse Fragrances Candle range, including some lemony scent which is actually Pina Colada. Creative, creative, creative. Love it. Heaven. As a result, I am also looking forward to burning their Sistine Chapel scent in my home shortly.

Great music. David Jones also provided a list of the songs played, and that you can download them from iTunes. You'll also want to come out of your seat and dance. Luxe. Lucky luxe. The designers (suitable for both genders) to watch out for, especially for the Spring/Summer 2013 season include: Alex Perry, George Gross, Harry Who, Simona, Jets, Lover, Jack London, Bec & Bridge, Akira, Camilla and Marc, Romance Was Born, Bassike, Alannah Hill, Alice McCall, Isola, Zanerobe, Megan Park, Zimmerman (swimming range) and Tigerlily.
Bliss
Other impressive designers on show also included Trelise Cooper, Bianca Spender, Zimmerman, Jac & Jack, Gary Bigeni, Ginger and Smart, M.J. Bale, Easton Preston, Collette Dinnigan, Carla Zampatti, Rachel Gilbert, Ellery, Little Joe, Roopa Pemmaraju, Willow, Thurley, Calibre and colourful Camilla.
What a list indeed. The Sydney fashion scene is clearly emerging. Watch out Melbourne. On that note, the recent launch (last night, as at the time of writing this) also celebrated the 10-year anniversary of Camilla and Marc. Love your pieces, and am glad to own a couple in my wardrobe. Cheers.
Cheers
