Sydney Royal Easter Show 2024
Fri 22 Mar 2024 - Tue 02 Apr 2024
Save the date
The Sydney Royal Easter Show is back and in 2024, the Easter Show runs from
Friday 22 March 2024 through to
Tuesday 02 April 2024.
Even if you've been before, there are new events, attractions and foodie experiences each year plus old favourites to fill a day (or more). Whilst there are lots of activities aimed at children, the show is not just for kids.
Highlights for adults include:
Woodchopping in the Woodchop stadium on Riverina Ave
Food truck alley (in between the Arts and Crafts pavilion and woodchopping stadium)
Giant pumpkins in the Flower and Garden pavilion
Craft stands in the Arts and Crafts pavilion where you can learn a new hobby such as leatherwork or flower arranging
Buy a new piece of artwork from the Arts and Crafts pavilion
Gourmet food tasting in the Woolworth's pavilion
Finding random gadgets or accessories in the Fashion and Style pavilion or World Bazaar
Eating a cheese on a stick with a fresh lemonade
Many showbags are aimed at adults with gym gear, stylish accessories, makeup and fashionable clothing
Motocross stunt show in the main stadium

I've convinced several friends and relatives who live overseas to visit Australia during Easter, so they can go to the Easter Show, and they all loved it.
The Sydney Easter Show was the highlight of my visit in Sydney.
- Emiliano Catacutan, 76 from the Philippines
I enjoyed the parade so much at the Sydney Easter Show.
- Salome Catacutan, 81 from the Philippines
The wood chopping competition was amongst my favourite things to see at the Sydney Easter Show.
- Sigrid Catacutan, 41 from the Philippines
If you're concerned about the cost, there's plenty of freebies and cheap eats. The Woolworth's pavilion offers cheap cheese toasties, hot cross buns and pies amongst numerous free tastings.
Down the back of the Showgrounds, (along New England Ave) is a barbecue where you can get a
Sausage sandwich with sauce and (optional onions) plus a bottle of water for $5 (2023 prices) which is the bargain of the show.
There's also water filling stations usually located along Hawkesbury St, New England Ave and outside the Flower & Garden Pavilion.
If your legs are tired and your back aches, from carrying so many showbags, head to the Home and Lifestyle pavilion where you'll find massage chairs. They're for sale but the stores offer free trials.
The
Bertie Beatle Showbag is still one of the cheapest available but
Cadbury and
Mars offer mix-and-match showbag combos which offer great value and give you a variety of chocolates. The
Australian Women's Weekly Showbag is generally the best value overall with lots of samples. The
Stella Athletic bag always sells out, so if that's on your list, buy it at the start of the day.
Men's Health and
Women's Health usually have stylish accessories including a tote bag, belt and hat amongst other healthy samples.
Top tips for an enjoyable show
Arrive early and plan the shows and events you wish to see
Grab a map on the way in (or from an information stand) as it has all the show times
Anticipate the busy times of pavilions e.g. Woolworths is always busy at lunchtime from 11:30am - 1:30pm and the show bags are busy at multiple times throughout the day but the arts and crafts is almost empty around 4pm
I prefer to buy show bags at the end of the day but there's lockers outside of the Woolworths pavilion if you don't want to miss out on a bag
Fitting everything into a single day is long and tiring, buy a multi-day pass or purchase a Royal Agricultural Society Membership which allows entry during any day of the show plus other benefits
Note that some events and award ceremonies are on specific days only e.g. succulents are on a different day to carnivorous plants
There's a quiet park on the corner of New England Ave and Hawkesbury St if you need an escape with water filling stations nearby
If you want to save on entry, plan on buying tickets ahead of the show for a specific day, and online. Tickets go on sale in February and the early bird period ends 21 March 2024 (unless sold out earlier).
Ticket prices range as follows:
Family Ticket - 2 Adults + 2 Children from: $110.00 - $190.00
Adult from: $43.00 - $60.00
Child from: $26.00 - $43.00
Concession: $32.00 - $49.00
Person With a Disability: $26.00 - $43.00
The cheaper price is based on buying your tickets online, in advance, before the show opens. The more expensive cost includes a reserved seat in the stadium.
Kids Day - $16 kids tickets and 2 for 1 rides
If you plan on taking lots of children, then visit on the last day of the show
02 April 2024 as kids' tickets are only $16 on Kids' Day! Plus, they can enjoy '2 for 1' Carnival rides. Some showbags are discounted towards the end of the show, whilst others are sold out, so it's a bit of a lucky dip.
