The Rocks Markets
are some of the best markets in Sydney
Sydney is an absolute hub of regular markets that offers everything you can imagine. One of my personal favourites though are the weekend markets held at historical area The Rocks every Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am – 5:00pm.
A beautiful array of clothing and accessories for little girls who want to look like princesses
So much to explore
Held in Playfair Street, George Street and Jack Mundey Place, are full of friendly people who are passionate about the things they make. From little girls' dresses to artisan jewellery to freshly squeezed lemonade; you'll easily spend an hour or two browsing and picking up a few one-off finds.
One of my favourite purchases from the markets
A few personal favourites as far as the stalls go are the ones that sell miniature animals in little glass bottles, and the one that uses stamps to create works of art like you've never seen before. There's also handmade leather notebooks and clothing from up and coming designers.
Fashion for everyone
Easy to spend hours here
Of course, being held in Sydney's most historic location only adds to the atmosphere of The Rocks' Markets. Traipsing over cobblestone streets, surrounded by characteristic buildings while enjoying the relaxed and casual atmosphere, you'll know right away that these are the markets you'll want to come back to again and again. And if the browsing goes on for a while, you can pick up something to nibble or sip on at some of the stalls, or sit down at one of the nearby eating establishments.
Handmade jewellery and clothing is a highlight
You can also enjoy nearby water views when you need to stop and rest your feet for a bit. The markets are within walking distance from both Circular Quay and the CBD (for able-bodied people), but there are also the trains and buses for those who prefer to use public transport.
But there are so many other things to enjoy as well
There are many markets in Sydney that I love to frequent, but if I could only ever go to one again, I would have to say it would be . For me, coming here is the perfect way to spend a weekend morning.
Every time you turn a corner theres more to see
And of course, more to buy.
