Top Things to do in Pyrmont

The spotlight is on Pyrmont, a suburb in Sydney's Inner West. You're only minutes from the city, either by foot and/or suitable public transport. Plenty of action and entertainment on this end of town. Pyrmont is shining in its own light, for all Sydney Fun subscribers and readers to enjoy.

1. Darling Harbour



Of course. We would not have said this back in the 80's. A smart decision was made, to turn this hub into a tourists mecca. Ever so popular among locals alike. Great restaurants and shops. Plenty of water activities to keep us happy. Even though the monorail is no longer with us, we don't seem to really mind. Super fun on a Saturday night , and especially with the fireworks. Let's light up our Saturday night in style.

2. Maritime Museum

3. The Star



Formerly Star City. If you don't feel like one of those lucky types, that is perfectly okay. Great retail outlets. The main attraction for most of us is their fantastic food court, as well as the Lyric Theatre. Fantastic musicals can be seen here. Sweet treats include ice cream from Gelato Messina, as well as dessert from Adriano Zumbo - with a funky dessert train with a new train 'timetable.'

4. Parks



Pirrama Park is fantastic. Plenty of space to kick a soccer ball. Also great for family picnics. A friend celebrated a picnic lunch for her birthday here recently. Has a great play area for kids, with a cafe on site. An excellent vantage point for the New Years Eve fireworks. Some people have also enjoyed fishing here. Excellent for bike riding as well. There is another great chill out park opposite The Star, where growers markets are also held.
